Jody Poem - Lost One Remix

On his rapid rise to the top of the rap game, the San Antonio rapper Jody Poem comes around with the release of "Lost One Remix", his latest single, which will be available for download at the common platforms on 2020-01-27.

We took the chance to do a short interview with him to learn more about the motivation behind doing the record and the creation process of "Lost One Remix".

NuEraMixtapes: Thanks for taking the time to do this interview with us. You said it took you 1 months in total to record "Lost One Remix". What was the motivation behind it?

Jody Poem: The creation process for this single came from my life. While trying to be a good father and husband, I struggled through all of the daily trials and tribulations. This emotions produced a recording of raw emotion. I hope this song let's men and women know you're not alone in fighting the good fight.

NuEraMixtapes: You described your release as Soothing with laid-back lyrics, your rap style is slightly comparable with Tupac Shakur's sound. What makes you unique and how do you set yourself apart from other aspiring artists?

Jody Poem: I set myself apart by being exactly who I say I am. There is nothing I've done to just have fame. I'm here to tell a story, teach people of resilience, and to heal the world through music.

Success is in the eye of the beholder. In other words, the only person who can decide if you're successful or not is the individual themselves. They have the power in deciding their success.

What obstacles have you faced and overcome in the music industry so far?

Jody Poem: I've faced many setbacks just as any young artist should. This includes but is limited to people not being reliable, people being emotionally challenging, and just in general the lack of funds to obtain the equipment needed to create quality recordings.

NuEraMixtapes: Any shoutouts and credits to the fam?

Jody Poem: First and foremost shoutout to Texas for always keeping it 100. Shoutout to D.M.A.C. and Trece for putting me on to the rap game. A shoutout to everyone who stood by me when I was down on my luck. Shoutout to the people who took the time to mentor me. Shoutout to my wife and kids for making me the man I am today. A final BIG shoutout to San Antonio and My Mother for raising me right. That shit saved my life.
