Major Crash - Lifestyle

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

On his rapid rise to the top of the rap game, the Laguna Niguel rapper Major Crash comes around with the release of "Lifestyle", his latest mixtape, which will be available for download at the common platforms on 2017-02-25.

We took the chance to do a short interview with him to learn more about the motivation behind doing the record and the creation process of "Lifestyle".

NuEraMixtapes: Thanks for taking the time to do this interview with us. You said it took you 3 months in total to record "Lifestyle". What was the motivation behind it?

Major Crash: This mixtape stretched from a time that I was homeless getting my ass beat in Hawaii for being a whiteboy, to funding studio time with jobs I could never hold down for over a month at a time. This is the teaser for an album I will be releasing in April. I tried to squeeze as much relatable content into 5 tracks as I possibly could. This is my first release after a 2016 which was filled beginning to end with battling addiction, a girl who tried to murder me, numerous fights that left me covered in scars, 2 trips to drug detox and even one stint in the looney bin. These shenanigans and many more are reflected in my music.

NuEraMixtapes: You described your release as "Experimental" with bold lyrics, your rap style is slightly comparable with Nobody's sound. What makes you unique and how do you set yourself apart from other aspiring artists?

Major Crash: I never fill a bar with a setup for the next bar, as in, every line is significant in some way or another. I write with the audience in mind. Though I enjoy getting personal, I prefer to say things in a way which can apply to everybody listening.

When people send me a message saying that I was the music they listened to when they were getting clean, or my lyrics were a contributing factor in motivating them to get out a suicidal mindstate, or even one where somebody told me my music got them to go out and get custody of their kid back. Regardless of financial gain, that stuff is what really makes me feel like I am contributing to the world in one way or another. I am already successful as far as I am concerned.

What obstacles have you faced and overcome in the music industry so far?

Major Crash: The music becoming synonomous with my financial situation has been a huge stresser. I had a couple bad sets live, and though they were discouraging at first, I had to find a way to turn that into motivation… Last year I had a track with an artist who became very successful, billboard 100 and everything after working with me. I was very disheartened watching him find success while mine stayed stagnent. Someone told me "Dont whine about it, Grind about it" and I live by those words. Every morning I wake up and get at it. As long as I continue to fill my music with good content that helps people, I don't see how it will not catch on sooner or later.

NuEraMixtapes: Any shoutouts and credits to the fam?

Major Crash: Shoutout my two little brothers Lucas and Tyler I have not been able to speak to in almost 9 years, but still love to death and keep up with from afar.
Shoutout my little sister Madison, who I have never met.
Shoutout my grandparents for raising a dapper lad when my parents dropped the ball.
Shoutout my good friend Nathan for holding me down when I go off the deep end for months at a time.
Shoutout every ex girlfriend, for turning me into a salty bitch capable of writing super moody relatable music.
Shoutout Jake Menzhuber, and Jeremiah Ortiz for making me sound good on tracks when I really am a dumpster fire without them.
